The name 'cult' in recent years is iA Writer, a simple text editor application that acts as a note-taking application. Supported platforms: Windows, Mac, Android, iOS. I tried a bunch of Evernote clones and various note taking apps but using a wiki site is the only thing that has 'stuck'.Replace the Evernote app with 1 of the following 5 tools I feel like the wiki format is really great for the 'taking notes in the margin' vibe of a real cookbook. I bookmark recipes into Wallabag, but then save them into the wiki when I actually make them. Then use 'bureaucracy' form input plugin to feed new recipes into these templates Hit edit on these pages and you can see what plugins I'm using to generate the pages. If you want to attempt to replicate this it's like 90% these two templates. Incorporates comments, ratings, sort/search by ingredient tags, printing the recipe includes a QR code linking back to the wiki, retains a revision history so you can see your edits over time, etc. Using templates and a shit load of plugins I have a cookbook that self generates itself from tags and categories. I posted this before and get DM's about it a lot so here's my setup again: There are some bookmarking plugins you can use to clip recipes in, I use a form on the wiki itself. Several advantages to this: flat text file storage of recipes, very low overhead, very customizable, multi-user, a website is the easiest thing to share.
